As Henry Kissinger stated: " To control the Food Supply is to control the People, To control the Energy Supply is to control the Nation".

Prophetic words or The Plan Revealed?

Maybe we should have all the net zero advocates move to an island by themselves. They can try their net zero fantasies without harming the rest of us.

If their ideas are so good, why won’t they try it?

We are living in a world of madness, without fertilisers food production will drastically decline. There are also by-products from Fertiliser plans like CO2 which is used to supply gas to the UK's Nuclear fleet that use it as a coolant, another problem they are creating.

While I understand why CF shutdown the fertiliser plant because of economics during the gas price spike gas prices are now down to levels pre the gas price crisis, so its a little surprising that they are closing it now.

This is all a function of environment and net zero madness, I'd like to point readers to particularly German and Dutch politics where the same madness is currently playing out a little ahead of us.

In Germany the close to neo Nazi party AfD (Alternative fur Deutschland) got 10% at the last election, since then the ruling coalition of Greens/SPD/FDP have tried to impose net zero policies that both the German public and business leaders are fighting against.

The net zero "uniparty" in Germany being the CDU/CSU, SPD, FPD, Greens are all signed up to net zero, only the AfD are not, equally the Uniparty is signed up to endless mass immigration, the AfD are not.

Now currently the AfD is polling in second place on 21-23%, the CDU/CSU (Conservatives) are polling 26% and the SPD is about 17%, Greens 14% and FPD about 7%

Despite the AfD being regularity cited as Neo Nazi (with some good cause) they are now in second place, if they dropped the Neo Nazi stuff I'm convinced they would be in first place.

None of the other parties are prepared to come out and renege on net zero for fear of being labelled heretics.

The same is happening in Holland where the last government of Mark Rutte tried to close and compulsory purchase farms because of excess nitrogen production the EU has told them to cut, they have blocked streets and in local regional elections their new party, the BBB swept the board and caused Mark Rutte's government to fall.

They want to close one of Holland's best food producers and foreign earnings industries and use the land for house building because, like us, they don't have enough houses and rather than stop mass illegal immigration they want to build houses to house them.

The same applies to the UK - the Uniparty, with Tories/Labour/Greens/Limp dims/SNP/PC etc etc all signed up to net zero and intent on applying this madness and will do so because you have nowhere else to vote.

Whichever way you vote, you get net zero, the only party left to vote for is Reform UK, the only party against mass immigration, illegal immigration and net zero.

This is going to be the dominant theme going forward, with crazy economics, LTN's, ULEZ, more and more expensive gas and electricity unless you vote with your feet.

I was a Tory voter, but no more, I'm only voting for parties that will repeal the law on net zero.

I mentioned gas and electricity, they will NOT get cheaper with renewables (covered on this blog extensively) and energy is a base cost to ALL industry and cost of living.

That's FUNDAMENTAL to economic prosperity and therefore YOUR prosperity which is why you are getting poorer.

Germany has a massive SME industrial industry base, the leaders of those businesses are out loud and clear, that over regulation, net zero and energy prices are killing German industry, no one is listening.

You have a choice, and its time to exercise it at the next election, vote Reform UK, not because they are brilliant, but they are the off ramp to the Uniparty madness, it may be your last chance before economic collapse.

Frightening how the UK is being set-up for food shortages, and not being able to be self-reliant in pinch. As I have said "Control the Abundance, Control the World" https://garysharpe.substack.com/p/control-the-abundance-control-the . Fortunately, farmers can be self-sufficient for fertilizer using "old" technology such as the Howard-Higgins method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=souPKfy_VLQ

Add to these forecasts, the rapid and continuing growth in the UK's population: reduced food supplies+increased demand. What could possibly go wrong?

However, we know that our leaders have a plan: demand management +managed decline; the latter is well under way.

With plans to imprison people for non compliance and a lifting of the ban on onshore wind farms it looks as though things are going to get an awful lot worse. The chances of the goons in government changing course seems pretty slim.

In South Africa they have closed most of the hydrocarbon refineries. That is the source of the ammonia to make fertilizers for farmers. Now we all know why they want to euthanize the Fossil Fuel industry.

Can you link to the FIRES report? I can't find the chart you've used in figure 2 and would like to put it in context.

thanks chaps. Clearly lots of work to do on embedding removing greenhouse gas from the atmosphere and/or progress on greening shipping and (less likely) air travel, to make sure flights/shipping don't actually need to be eliminated (which will never actually happen anyway as doesn't seem feasible). Sure we'll get there though - more forests will help remove more CO2 for example. So planting lots of trees can keep the ships a-sailing.

Lots of paths to net zero - some that we probably don't even have sight of yet - excited to see how it all unfolds.
