Fully agreed. But it isn't only energy policy. The Trump administration is able to get so much done so quickly because of many years of quiet analysis and preparation with the help of The Heritage Foundation who documented all of the stupid Biden policies and Executive orders to unwind. Reform MUST undertake the equivalent of this in the UK to be be as effective. There are independent bodies who can help but the days of amateur British politics are over. It now needs professional preparation so as to be ready to take over not fumbling around as usual to decide what to do. Manifestos are a joke which just go through the motions. On the specific issue of energy policy, Reform would be mad NOT to seek advice from Eigen values and few others so as to be able to hit the ground running on energy - surely one of the key issues for national reform.

This all assumes we actually have a viable country left after 5 years of Labour.

Excellent, David.

Many people make the mistake of labelling Reform as right-wing. It's more complicated than that. The MSM has always called Farage right-wing, if not "literally Hitler", because they labelled anyone who dared to talk about immigration as right-wing.

In fact, had they bothered to read any of the manifestos Farage has written under his various party hats they would have discovered a socially conservative, economically big-state set of policies that would be perfectly acceptable to a working class Labour voter of the Gaitskell era.

Your eminently sensible proposals may struggle to gain traction with Reform because Farage, just like his friend Trump, isn't actually a free-marketeer.
