So once again key assumptions underpinning the modelling used to justify the Net Zero plans for our power system have been shown to be totally inadequate and wildly optimistic.

… and yet they have just knuckled down and seem determined to carry on as if nothing else matters.

Irony upon irony of course there is now a rising clamour from what remains of industry, the heat pump lobby, EV advocates etc. that the price of power is impeding electrification and thus decarbonisation. Who knew?

When eventually this empire built on sand crumbles it would be nice to think there would be a reckoning.

Unfortunately that is not the British establishment’s way and I suspect the likes of Miliband, Shanks, Pinchbeck and Stark will all at some point be elevated to the Lords. Presumably their ‘ennobling’ will be for services to the environment rather than their ‘nobbling’ of the UK economy.

I'm sick and tired of Net Zero proponents lying and dissembling all the time. They do it on their obviously flawed climate pseudoscience and on their engineering so-called solution based on their rickety Heath Robinson imposition of hopelessly inappropriate wind and solar power. It’s doubly stupid when most of the rest of the world is powering ahead with fossil fuel business as usual.

It's been going on for decades and all they are succeeding in doing is to wreck our energy infrastructure, hollow out our industrial capacity and impoverish the people, all to no useful purpose. A conspiracy theorist might think that has been their plan all along.

As David suggests, they should be facing criminal charges for malfeasance in public office.
